About The British Oak

The British Oak Ale House is a nineteenth-century gastropub that has been a local favourite since its opening in March 2014. Sup a well-earned pint, a glass of wine or an expertly made cocktail in one of the pub’s many comfy corners, or pitch up in the garden for a pizza with your friendly dogs.

British dishes and hearty flavours form our tasty food menu. We specialise in award-winning pies, delicious vegan plates, vegetarian dishes and traditional roast dinners. Keep an eye on our daily specials for seasonal, locally-sourced dishes and mouth-watering desserts.

We have an extensive range of craft beers from across the globe and several rotating guest ales available on tap – alongside a vast selection of whiskies, gins and freshly made cocktails.

Our cosy interiors, steeped in history, are the perfect backdrop for your special occasion. The garden area can be transformed with our marquee to give you an alternative space for larger events. We can host parties of up to 100 people with endless options to meet your food and beverage needs.
