A talk with our Barista
At The British Oak, we have a selection of hot beverages to bring you a pep in your step or a cosy cuppa after a hearty meal. Whether you’re after a pot of tea, a hot chocolate or a classic latte, we will do our best to look after you. We’ve spoken to our resident barista, to give you an inside look at what to expect at The British Oak and his thoughts on what makes a great cup of coffee.
What is your favourite coffee to make?
“If I had to choose just one, I’d say a Latte is my favourite type of coffee to make. It requires a delicate touch and you get to be creative at the end when creating the foam pattern”
What’s your favourite coffee to drink?
“It depends what mood I’m in and what time of day it is but if I get the chance, I love a good Irish coffee. You get the amazing taste of a quality coffee blend with an extra kick.”
What do you think makes a good coffee?
“Personally, I think it’s all in the milk when it comes to making a good coffee. If you make sure you get the temperature and the consistency just right, you’ll make a great cup every time!”
How do you make sure you keep your coffee skills sharp?
“Luckily, I worth with a great team who trained me up but I’ve been told I have a good eye for detail when it comes to brewing coffee. I also watch a lot of barista videos online to pick up new tips and tricks.”
